Bridget Read is a features writer at New York magazine, reporting on housing inequality and the real estate industry for Curbed. Her subjects include the powerful and the powerless, scammers and their marks, and regular people in ridiculous circumstances. Previously, she wrote for The Cut and was a culture writer at Vogue. In 2021 she was a finalist for the Livingston Award, honoring the best reporting and storytelling by journalists under the age of 35. Her writing has also appeared in The New York Review of Books, Bookforum, n+1, The New Republic, andVice.

Her first book Little Bosses Everywhere is forthcoming from Crown on May 6, 2025. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
