Bridget Read is a features writer at New York magazine. Her subjects include the powerful and the powerless, scammers and their marks, and regular people in ridiculous circumstances. In 2026 she was nominated for a National Magazine Award. Previously, she wrote for The Cut and was a culture writer at Vogue. In 2021 she was a finalist for the Livingston Award, honoring the best reporting and storytelling by journalists under the age of 35. Her writing has also appeared in The New York Review of Books, Bookforum, n+1, The New Republic, andVice.
Her first book Little Bosses Everywhere was published by Crown in 2025. She lives in New York City.
